Commercial Audit Incentives Program Enbridge Gas Customers
The Commercial Audit Incentives Program offers Enbridge customers technical advice and rebates for completing energy efficiency improvements. A minimum natural consumption of 150,000m3 per year for each facility is required to qualify for an audit incentive. Incentives payable to customers will be the lowest $0.01m3 of natural gas consumed at the applicable building(s) during the most recently completed calendar year; 1/2 of the cost of the audit up to $5,000; or 1/3 the cost of the audit up to $5,000 if other audit incentives are received.

The Energy Efficiency Housing Initiative offers a variety of education programs for the residential (& construction) sector on building new homes that are energy efficient, including guidelines to increase energy efficiency by 30% compared to Provincial building codes, the EnerGuide rating system, and ENERGY STAR for New Homes.

ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes National
The ecoENERGY Retrofit Homes Program offers grants to owners of single family detached, semidetached and low rise multi-unit residential buildings for energy efficiency improvements. The maximum per building is $5,000 and the total amount available to one individual/entity for eligible properties is $500,000 over the life of the program. Ontario’s Home Energy Savings Program (HESP) offers matching grants up to $5,000 for energy efficiency retrofits.

ecoENERGY Retrofit Small and Medium Organizations National
ecoENERGY Retrofit -Small and Medium Organizations offers rebates to small and medium-sized commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-residential facilities to implement energy saving projects. Participants receive up to $10 per giga-joule of estimated energy savings, 25% of project costs, or $50,000 per project.

Gas Equipment Conversion Enbridge Gas Customers
The Gas Equipment Conversion Program offers customers a one-time rebate for the installation of energy efficiency equipment that results in measurable natural gas reductions. The incentive is calculated on the basis of the annual projected cubic meters of natural gas added to the address at the rate of $0.05/m3 up to $30,000 per address. Higher efficiency equipment and systems conversions can qualify for higher incentives. Additionally, a $100 rebate for each gas dryer conversions is also available.

Higher Efficiency Boiler Program Enbridge Gas Customers
The Hligher Efficiency Boiler Program offers financial incentives to encourage upgrades to higher efficiency heating and domestic hot water boilers. The Program also offers information, energy management and monitoring, research and development, training and technical assistances. To be eligible, boiler upgrades must be 84% combustion efficient and condensing boilers must be 90% combustion efficient.

Infrastructure Ontario Loan Program Provincial
Infrastructure Ontario offers low-interest loans to public sector organizations for most capital expenditures. Eligible organizations include hospices; housing providers; local service boards; not-for-Ontario’s profit long term care homes; municipal corporations; municipalities; and not-for-profit professional arts training institutions, universities, and colleges.

MultiChoice Conversion Program Enbridge Gas Customers
The MultiChoice Conversion Program offers Enbridge customers rebates of $0.10/m3 of natural gas saved, to a maximum of $30,000 (for 3 or more measures) per facility, building, or project. Natural gas savings can come from replacing equipment, operational changes or building automation systems.

Net Metering Provincial
Ontario’s net metering regulation allows any Ontario customers that generate their own electricity from a renewable source (wind, water, solar or agricultural biomass) to send their excess electricity to the electrical grid in exchange for a credit toward their energy. This is for equipment of a maximum cumulative output up to 500 kilowatts in size.

Peaksaver Provincial
The Peaksaver program offers a one-time $25 rebate and a programmable thermostat or switch to residents and small business interested in lowering their summer peak energy use. During peak energy use, your local distribution/utility company will send a signal to the programmable thermostat that will turn down your air conditioner by a couple of degrees.

Retail Sales Tax (RST) Exemption
on Renewable Energy Systems
The RST Exemption offers an RST Rebate to homeowners and builders who install qualifying renewable energy equipment ineluding solar, wind, micro-hydro electric or geothermal systems. RST rebates are also provided for enhancements to an existing system.

Retails Sales Tax (RST) Exemption
on ENERGY STAR Products
A point-of-sale exemption applies to certain ENERGY STAR qualifying household products purchased, rented, or leased after July 19, 2007 and before August 31, 2009. The RST exemption applies to refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers, freezers, dehumidifiers, room air conditioners, and qualifying light bulbs and decorative light strings. The RST exemption is expected to provide Ontario consumers with $36 million in 2007-08 and $15 million in 2008-09.
